Gateshead People

Gateshead People is a self advocacy group for people with learning disabilities in Gateshead.  We have 24 members and we meet every Wednesday from 10-00am till 1-00pm.  We talk about things that are important to us and get involved in campaigning for our rights.  We have a small team of trainers called T4C (Training for Change) who have developed Learning Disability Awareness training and can deliver this to anyone.  We also have a small team of people called Involvement Now that work very closely with the Learning Disability Partnership Board and various subgroups of the partnership board to make sure the voices of people with learning disabilities are heard and listened to when decisions about services are being discussed and made.
